Enquiries and client work
The form collects your name, email, website address and message so I can understand your enquiry and reply. A free first look does not subscribe you to marketing. Please do not send passwords or your customers’ personal information through the form.
I use information to take steps you request before entering a contract, and to carry out agreed work. For business representatives and general enquiries, I rely on my legitimate interests in responding and running the business. Accounting records are also kept where required by law.
The services involved
WordPress.com and Jetpack provide this website, its enquiry form and site statistics. Form responses are stored in the website administration area and delivered to my business inbox. Hosting, form, email and security providers process the information needed to operate those services.
Automattic, the provider of WordPress.com and Jetpack, may process visitor information internationally. Its visitor privacy notice explains its processing and sharing. Contact me for information about the providers and transfer safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
If agreed client work needs access to a shop, we confirm the access and data-handling arrangements before that work begins.
Browser storage and statistics
When you start an enquiry on the homepage, the site temporarily holds the message in this browser tab to carry it to the form. It is removed when transferred; a draft older than 30 minutes is not reused. Your message is not placed in the page URL.
WordPress.com and Jetpack receive technical information such as IP address, browser details, pages visited and visit time to provide hosting, security, performance information and site statistics. Their services may use cookies or similar technologies; see Automattic’s cookie information. Your browser lets you control or clear stored site data.
The Featherlings demonstration loads product photographs from Shopify’s image service, which receives the technical information needed to deliver them to your browser.
How long information is kept
Enquiries that do not become work are retained for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact, unless needed for an active dispute or a legal obligation. This applies to form responses and email copies.
Client correspondence and work records are kept for as long as needed to deliver the agreed service, resolve queries and meet contractual or legal obligations. Accounting records follow the applicable statutory retention requirements. Backup copies are removed through the relevant provider’s backup cycle.
Your rights and complaints
You can ask for a copy of your personal information or request a correction. Depending on the circumstances, you can also request deletion, restriction or a portable copy, or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Email matt@fixyour.shop with your request or concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
